  • hair removal epilation is the term used to remove the entire hair from the follicle

The latter explains why after hair epilation it will take a longer time for the hairs to appear above the skin. But epilation as such still leaves you with the choice between temporary and permanent hair epilation:

  • temporary hair epilation is done with electric epilators, waxing, sugaring or tweezing

  • permanent hair epilation is done by laser, photo epilation or electrolysis.

Temporary hair removal epilation

  • Tweezing refers to hair removal using tweezers to pluck each hair one after one from its follicle. It’s a very effective hair removal method and equally slow.
  • Electric epilators have rotating heads that grasp your hairs and pull them from the follicle like tweezers do, but you will be able to remove more hair at the time.
  • Waxing is the fastest way to temporary remove your hair with one pull. You are a beauty specialist will apply a layer of either hot or cold wax directly on your skin, which then will be pulled away quickly using
a piece of cloth. Although this is a very fast end effective hair removal method, it’s incredibly painful. Yet people who use waxing on a regular basis say you get used to the pain. This is because less hairs will grow
back and be pulled out the next time you go for a waxing.
  • Sugaring is only different from waxing because you will use a sugar-based substance instead of wax to remove your hairs.

Permanent hair removal epilation

  • Laser hair removal is a method by which a laser beam is projected on your skin which will be attracted by the dark color of the hair and causes permanent damage to the follicle. The advantage of laser hair removal is that it is pain free. The disadvantage is that laser hair removal has the most success on removing dark hairs from fair skins. If you are blond with a dark tan, the laser hair removal will not be your best choice of hair removal epilation.
  • Photo epilation is very similar to but more effective than laser hair removal. A pulsed light beam will destroy the hair follicle’s ability to produce new hair. This hair removal method useful for all hair colors and skin types.
  • A more painful, more slow and less expensive permanent hair removal method uses electrolysis that treats each hair individually with a needle-like. The needle will touch the hair follicle and induce an electric charge through to damage the roots of the hair follicle permanently. Although a very effective permanent hair removal epilation method, it is very slow and a bit painful. No pain, no gain…
